We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights at Desert Shadows RV Park in Northwest Phoenix. I thought it was a nice little RV park although I am terribly inexperienced at this point so I have no other basis for judgment on this. It is a very large RV park with over 500 spaces total, very little to no grass however they are very dog friendly with some dog runs. But they did have an indoor pool with set hours for kids swim times which was really nice. They did not have any playground type equipment but it is a 55 plus community so that is to be expected. They had fun stuff to do like bocce ball and Horseshoes and a golf driving range but we didn’t do any of that LOL.

They did however have hot coffee and cold iced tea available 24/7 so I have to give them a big thumbs up on that. This site that we had was nice and flat with a concrete pad next door and a bench right outside the awning. Oh yes and one pound one giant palm tree.

We were in spot 290 and did full hookups here and enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful and accommodating despite me changing our reservations couple times. We paid a total of $190 for a 5-day stay here averaging $42/nt.

We did not have any neighbors on either side for the first couple nights…

…and then when the weekend rolled around it got pretty busy.

My favorite part about this place was it was extremely quiet for being in the middle of this city. We actually woke up in the morning because it was so quiet and it seems strange to us, even compared to our house with a large yard in the middle of Phoenix this place was very quiet.

We had lots of friends and family members come to visit us and Say Goodbye which was really nice. We have consumed more pizza in the past week during this moving transition and beer then we have in a long time so I’ll definitely need a good solid week of salads after this. Scott did a great job hooking up the tow vehicle for the first time. We make sure to test it out and double check everything and it’s all ready to go!

We are just leaving Phoenix now on our first official travel day to begin our journey!!! We are super super excited and Annika is having fun playing in the back.

She is looking forward to flying her kite that her tio and tia got for her. We are headed to Beaumont California for a one night stay. It should be great weather after the 4 Hour Drive. More soon!
